CIRCULAR POLARIZATION
A circularly polarized light wave (bright blue). The yellow arrow represents the rotating electric field vector. The horizontal and vertical components of the helical wave are shown as shadows cast on the walls. Circular polarisation is used to split left and right views in 3D cinema. This animation also illustrates the relationship between circular motion and sine waves.
